This week (December 4 – 8) is recognized nationally as Influenza Vaccination Week, reminding us that there is still time to receive the flu vaccine. Local data on both flu and RSV infections are available again this season, thanks to the work of the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) at the Center for Community Health & Prevention and our colleagues at CARES. The weekly data report contains information on flu and RSV cases in Monroe County, including hospitalization and death rates by age group. Updated every Monday, this report will be available throughout the flu season (through April 2024).
You may access the full report here. The prior year’s report is also available at the site, and may be accessed by the drop-down menu at the top left of the page.
Learn more about how these data, collected and managed by the EIP, are used by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to monitor respiratory pathogens nationally.
